Privacy & Cookie Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information that we collect about you when you use www.aurabeads.co.uk.

Who we are

We are Aura Beads and our website address is: www.aurabeads.co.uk.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so – for example, to provide our services, to communicate with you, or to make our services better.

Information you provide to us

We collect information that you provide to us. The amount and type of information depends on the context and how we use the information. Here are some examples:

  • Basic Account Information: We ask for basic information from you in order to set up your account. For example, we require individuals who sign up for an account to provide an email address along with a username or name and a password. You may provide us with more information – like your address and other information you want to share – but we don’t require that information to create an account.
  • Public Profile Information: If you have an account with us, we collect the information that you provide for your public profile. For example, your username is part of that public profile, along with any other information you put into your public profile, such as a photo or an “About Me” description. Your public profile information is just that – public – so please keep that in mind when deciding what information you would like to include.
  • Transaction and Billing Information: If you buy something from us, you will provide additional personal and payment information that is required to process the transaction and your payment, such as your name, credit card information and contact information. We accept payments through Stripe. Data will be passed to Stripe, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and your billing information. Information shared with Stripe to process payments includes:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Address
    • Phone
    • Unique payment identifier
    • Payment provider identifier

To better understand how Stripe uses and stores the data shared with them, check their privacy policies directly: https://stripe.com/gb/privacy

  • Comments: When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture (if you have one) is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Information we collect automatically

We also collect some information automatically:

  • Log Information: Like most online service providers, we collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.
  • Information from Cookies & Other Technologies: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s computer, and that the visitor’s browser provides to the website each time the visitor returns. Pixel tags (also called web beacons) are small blocks of code placed on websites and emails. We use cookies and other technologies like pixel tags to help us track visitors, usage, and access preferences for our services.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
